A Guided EFT Tapping Practice to Calm Anxiety and Big Emotions
When life feels overwhelming and your anxiety spikes, you need something that works fast. Today I am sharing one of my most trusted emotional regulation tools. EFT tapping, also known as the Emotional Freedom Technique, blends Chinese acupressure with modern psychology to help calm the nervous system and create emotional relief in minutes.
In this episode of the Love Your Life Show, I guide you through a full tapping meditation that you can return to any time your emotions hit a ten out of ten.
What Is EFT Tapping and Why It Helps
EFT tapping involves repeating a simple phrase while gently tapping on nine points on the face and body. Research shows that tapping can reduce stress, soothe anxiety, lower cortisol levels, and support relief from fear, overwhelm, chronic tension, and even specific anxieties like flying or public speaking.
You can tap on either side of your body or both at once. Use two to four fingers, whatever feels right to you. The pressure is gentle. This is a practice designed to meet you exactly where you are.
When I Personally Reach for Tapping
I use tapping a lot and it always helps. Seriously – it’s the kind of thing that when I take the time to do it, I always feel better.
I use it when my mind is racing. When my anxiety hits a ten out of ten or when I feel stuck in a loop of overwhelm. I also use it when I’m like “why they heck do I feel this bad” and the answer is probably perimenopause or something hormonal.
Every time I tap, something shifts. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. That shift is what I want for you too.
