Mental Hygiene? Yep. There is such a thing as mental hygiene and it affects all areas of our life. The amount of stress and anxiety we are experiencing as a society is directly affecting our physical health. I’ll bet you spend plenty of time caring for your physical hygiene (brushing your teeth, drinking water, getting sleep, exercising). How much time do you dedicate to taking care of your mental hygiene?
Listen in because this week I interview Mindfulness Expert, TEDx speaker, and Author, Laurie Cameron. We speak of easy ways to make your days more mindful in addition to speaking of the importance of paying attention to what you’re paying attention to and what happens in your brain when you do.
Laurie is the owner and founder of a mindfulness based leadership development company called Purpose Blue. She works with companies such as Capitol One, Cisco, Discovery, Deloitte, and National Geographic. She is also the author of our recommended book of the month “The Mindful Day”.
Laurie has been a mindfulness practicioner for over 20 years. She is a master certified mindfulness teacher, a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being, and a guest professor on Mindful Leadership at the R.H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. Laurie speaks internationally to share the power of mindfulness at conferences, has received the Five Mindfulness Trainings from Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, and now she’s on the Love Your Life Show!!!
