Body Scan Meditation
Warriors! This is a special treat! I’ve recorded this under 10-minute body scan mediation. I used it with a group of Middle Schoolers that I work with and they asked if I could put it somewhere so they could relisten to it. And so here it is, a 10 minute body scan meditation designed to settle your nervous system and bring you calm.
They convinced me to share it with the public as they like it much better than a lot of the pre-recorded versions we had listened to.
Benefits of Body Scan Meditations
A body scan meditation is a simple but powerful practice to help you reconnect with yourself in your day. I like them because they bring awareness to areas of tension in my body so I can let them go.
Body scan meditations involve mentally “scanning” each part of your body, from head to toe, noticing how it feels without judgment. For many women who carry the weight of responsibility and constant worry for others, this meditation offers a practice for self-focus and peace.
Practicing a body scan helps reduce stress, calm the mind, and can help you relieve both mental and physical tension. It allows you to release what’s weighing you down and gives you a sense of grounding. By becoming more aware of how your body feels, you may even discover areas of neglected self-care. Taking this small moment to tune in can leave you feeling more relaxed, balanced, and present—not only for yourself but also for those you care about.
