Understanding how my brain works has made all the difference in my life. Our brain is the supercomputer that runs our life. It is the force driving our actions that lead to the results we see in our life. The question is, is it running you or are you running it? 

Learning about neuroscience and how my brain works has helped me in ways I expected (hacking my brain to do the things I want to do) and in ways I didn’t expect (higher confidence, lower negative self talk, and less people pleasing) Of course I want to share this knowledge with you. 
This week I share a super simple way to think of your brain so that you can start doing the things you want to be doing (and stop doing the things you don’t want to be doing!)

Think of your brain like that car radio. How aware are you of the station you’re tuned in to? How often do you stop to pay attention to which songs are playing?

Most of us can agree music affects our mood – you can play calming music to feel calmer, you can play upbeat music to feel more upbeat etc… 

Take that a step further to understand and accept that the thoughts we have running in our head are like songs that also affect our mood. The thoughts we’re thinking affect the mood we are experiencing.

It seems easier to blame.
Blaming others feels justified.
Blaming someone or something for what’s happening in your life seems easier.
Yet…
it doesn’t feel better.
Blaming others for why we feel how we feel or why our life is as it is leads us to feeling out of control and anxious.
It leads us to trying to control things outside of our influence:
other people and their actions..
