Story Telling: Past and Present
When people ask you about your past, what story do you tell?
This is important because as humans, we are unreliable narrators. We think we are telling an accurate version of our life story but we are telling it through our subjective lens. In simple terms, the way we experience life is filtered through the lens through which we see it.
Listen in as I share two different stories I can tell about my past and how they help and hurt me.
Let me help you find the both and experience that sets us up for a present and future that serves us.
You matter to me, dear warrior!

Playing Big with Kim Strobel
Have you been told you’re too much?
You laugh too loud?
Talk too much?
Are too direct?
Or is it just me?
Lol because I know it’s not.
From very young ages, women are taught to play small, to be small, and to not rock the boat.
I was praised when I did what others wanted me to do over what I wanted to do.
I was threatened or punished if I spoke up for myself or my needs.
How does this show up in our lives as young women and beyond?
We learn to hide our true selves and abandon our desires and wants.
This leads us to feeling bitter and resentful.
Even more worrisome, we can feel like no one knows the real us.
No more.
Join me on the show this week as Kim Strobel and I discuss it all. Patriarchy, people pleasing, confidence, and our role as women crafting a new vision of what being a woman looks like, and even more importantly, feels like.
The Enneagram: A Brief Overview
Oh warriors, this is a great episode! Today I am diving into an ancient personality typing system called the enneagram. I discovered it last year and learning about it has helped me deepen my discovery of myself and why I do what I do. This month we have been focusing on our relationships with other people and today, we’re finishing up the series by focusing on your most important relationship, the one we have with ourselves.
The enneagram is a magical tool that can help us with all of this. It is similar to Myers Brigs and other personality typing tools in that it is a helpful guide, not something that is written in cement. What I like about it is it’s internal, it addresses our core motivations and our core wounds. If you want to learn more about it’s origin, I’ll include links to a whole bunch of resources in the show notes at www.smbwell.com/133
Please head to my instagram or the warrior women facebook group and share your takeaways from this episode. We’ll be chatting enneagram this week live in the community group and I’d love to see you in there.

Top Ways to Ruin Relationships
Here you go: The top ways to ruin your romantic relationship. Frankly, these ways can be applied to most any relationship. The irony is, we tend to be better behaved in our other relatksohips; more mindful of what we are doing and what comes out of our mouth. We are experts at adding drama to our intimate relationships and here are some ways we do that.

You’re Not Broken
You’re not broken
Did you need to hear that?
Listen in to this week’s episode as this is the sex-ed we never received. The sex education, that because I didn’t get it, I went through the first thirty years of my life thinking something was wrong with me. Thinking that I was broken. Truly.
And I’m not alone.
Coaches and sex therapists report that the number one complaint of women is that they fear something is wrong with them.
That they are broken.
You’re not.
We don’t know what we don’t know. Movies, books, and porn all portray a certain kind of lovemaking that is not helpful or accurate.
Today, I want to illuminate some lessons that I wish I had been taught in school or by my parents that have helped me tremendously.
Listen in and then share. You can be part of the re-education. One person can make a difference and that person can be you!
